Many drivers are attracted to the eco-friendly nature of hybrids, not to mention the cash that they’ll save at the pump thanks to their increased fuel economy. But for buyers with bad credit, hybrids are often outside their price range.
Environmentally conscious drivers might be interested to know that Nissan is currently offering buyers significant savings on their Altima hybrid models. Drivers who purchase a 2010 Altima hybrid now can get $4,500 cash back or 0 percent APR financing for 60 months.
This fully-loaded sedan gets 35 miles per gallon in the city and 33 on the highway with its 2.5-liter gasoline/electric hybrid engine. The Altima also achieved 5-star safety ratings in passenger, driver and side front safety tests.
If the Altima is still outside a driver’s price range, they shouldn’t worry. There are plenty of other green, fuel-efficient options. Hybrids are not as expensive when they are bought used. Drivers also might be able to afford a few of the smaller, European-inspired options like the Smart FourTwo.
Having bad credit doesn’t mean consumers need to drive a gas guzzler. With a little research, they can go green and save some green at the pump.
